It has a long time since I've given a update about my book.

For those who don't know I am writing a fictional book called Shadow of Blackfire Mountain(name may change). Anyways, I've gotten sorta behind in my writing and need a boost.

Right now Merth is on a ship bound for Leyer after Spoiler: after escaping from the clutches of evil once again. To be perfectly honest I feel my book has lost the charm it once seemed to posses. But do not fear! I am not giving up I just know that it will take me some time for editing because I have new desires and ambitions for where I want my book to lead.

The Christmas Carol review

Today I watched the Christmas Carol in 3D it was pretty cool. I liked it mostly because it was just like the book, with quotes and all.

Jim Carrey fit Scrooge very well. The story is about an old bachelor(Ebenezer Scrooge) who is very negative and edacious, that is' greedy. He dislikes Christmas wholeheartedly misunderstanding the joy in giving. In all he is a colorless, grouchy old man.

Anyway, he, on Christmas Eve, is visited by the ghost of his former coworker who had been dead for seven years. Marley's ghost came and told Scrooge of the chains he bore because of the evil way of life he had lived, he warned Scrooge that he had a chance to change so he could escape Marley's fate. To make the story short Scrooge is visited by three ghosts(past, present and future). I don't want to give anything away for those who have not yet seen the movie(or read the story) all I'll say is Scrooge changed.

A week ago I auditioned for a small part in a movie. They hadn't called me back so I thought they didn't want me for the part. But on Monday we were called up and they said the director wanted to see me. So today I went and saw the director and the main actress's back. The director said I was great and that they would call me if I got the part. So I'm excited, I may be too tall for the part but I'm hoping to get it. The movie is called the Whistle Blower. Ok, I'm starting randomness Wednesday because sadly Fridays I'm usually to busy to get to the computer so happy randomness day everyone!

To start off with RW I would like to have an AWARD GIVEAWAY everyone loves award giveaways!

Here is the random story;

A young girl 'probably no older than five' saunters over to two foot tall bench. She peers up at the sky above her and there is the silhouette of a boy probably only 6 or 7 framed by the sunlight standing quite still on the bench. "Joel what are you doing?" the girls voice cooed.

"Nothing," Joel replied curtly, scratching his head pondering what to do, after being at their grandparents house for so many weeks he had experienced the meaning of boredom. His sister sat in the grass crosslegged and started to pull up some of the blades humming a song which she had heard at church earlier that day. 'Thump, 'Thump. The young girl jerked her head upward towards the startling noise. In awe she watched as her older brother jumped up and down on the bench. "I want to try I want to try!" She cried as she clambered up onto the bench. "No, get down," Joel whined. The girl wobbled as she stood up on the bench, and very carefully she immitated her brothers movements 'Thump, 'Thump. The girl's smile reached from ear to ear, as she proudly showed her brother that she could do it just like him. Joel rolled his eyes and jumped off the bench, his game had lost its charm now that his sister had picked it up. "Joel, where are you going," the girl called out. "Inside," Joel grumbled as he dragged his feet towards the house. The young girl stopped jumping and frowned. Sighing she started up the game again but halfheartidly. Suddenly she lost her footing and fell in a heep on the ground and tears poured down her cheeks as she struggled to get up. She had fallen on her leg wrong and broke it.

Also I ordered a book and it got here a couple days ago, it's called the Lord of the Rings Sketchbook by Alan Lee(one of my favorite artists, aside from Van Gogh) actually Alan Lee is my favorite Illustrater well anyway here is a picture of the cover. Pretty much it's about Alan Lee's point of view as he was helping make the movie and every page has sketches by him. The drawing are inspiring, the writing catches intrest(I've caught my mom and my oldest brother Jon reading it:) I reccomend it! I added some pictures from the inside(click for bigger picture)

Isle of Swords

Yesterday I discovered a book on my shelf and I looked at the title. It was called The Isle of Swords. As most of you should know I'm reading the Lord of the Rings(Fellowship) but I paused in my reading of that because I've already read it and this was a new interesting looking book. I started reading. I didn't have much time to read yesterday but I did read enough to start enjoying it. I've read few, actually none very seafaring related, and I've read none about pirates but this book has captured my attention but who says there's never time to start something new? I'll start posting what's happening if you'd like that. What do you say? Should I post about it or not?

I'm back from a wonderful trip to Croatia and I'm happy to stretch my legs and relax. Believe it or not vacations are hard work and I'm sure that if you'd asked any member of my family if that is true they would agree. Not that vacations aren't fun, but after swimming every day, walking everywhere, and not really ever taking the time to sit down you get worn out.
On the two day drive back from Croatia my family listened to an audio book about a man named Brother Andrew. It's a true story about a missionary during communism and it is amazing. I think it is all the more fascinating to my family being missionaries ourselves. The book really has a lot about faith and trust, which I think are two key words being Christians. There are so many miracles that this man really took part of that it just makes you really stop and remember God's faithfulness and love towards us. I recomend the book it's called
God's Smuggler because the man smuggles bibles where they are illegal.

I'm reading the first Sisters Grimm book, called The Fairy Tale Detectives. I must say that I've never exactly gotten into faeries and pixies, more so Dragons and griffins. But this book has surprised me. It is well written and the plot is great. When I first read the name I thought, this might not be my book, actually I thought there would be buckets about fairies and all that stuff, actually so far they play a small part. I would tell you all that happens if I didn't want to spoil it. It's a very clever book:) I'm still reading Lord of the Rings, but I have lots I want to read and I've already read Lord of the Rings. But I'm still reading it...

I just finished Hebrews in my bible and it was mostly about the priest, but I kept with it even though it was sorta complicated and I came to chapter 11. That is an amazing chapter that I recommend reading. It was just really beautiful. It talks about the importance of faith, and gives you many examples of people from the Bible accomplishing things through faith. It reminded me that anything is possible through Christ and that we should never fail to believe that he can do anything. I just wanted to share that with you all and again 'go read Hebrews 11 it is amazing!

Eledain

In my book there is someone who represents God and his name is Eledain. I'm wanting there to be more about him, because I plan Merth(the main character) to come to know him. My purpose for writing this is to ask for opinions. I was thinking about having the remaking of Endriel where all things are made new(the New Jerusalem), but I find that is the same as in many books, and yet I love that idea I think it ties the book together well. Or I could just leave out my last book The Supremacy of Eledain and have the ending in Light on the Battlefield at the end and make it more short. What do you think?

Lord of the Rings and Land of Elyon book review

I am about to read Lord of the Rings again. The best books are all worth rereading many times. For those who haven't read the series I would like to encourage you to read it. Imagine the best Author in the world's best book(my opinion.) I've developed a love for the characters and it's hard for me not to be reading about my favorite fictional characters in the world, Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, Boromir, Tom Bombodil, and all those other characters. It is the same with the places. I just finished the book but I find myself missing the Shire and Rohan, Rivendell and Gondor, and all those places inbetween. Middle Earth is an amazing place that I'm afraid even the movie cannot fully express.
I'm finishing up The Land of Elyon series. Whenever I near the end of a book I feel lose and the gain. I feel the sadness of putting a wonderful book down and yet the excitment of picking a new one up, it is an odd sensation which is difficult to put into words. Now about the Land of Elyon. I must say I think my favorite is Into the Mist. I don't know I have a sense of guilt about having the favorite be the one not entirely focused on the Main Character Alexa Daley. I don't often read books about talking animals and I find it a treat when I get to hear what the animals say. I think my favorite characters aside from Alexa are Yipes, Warvold and Roland, Armon the giant, and Murphy and Balamoral. I think that the last one may be my favorite but I'm still reading it so we shall see.
Both amazing series take my word for it and worth reading!
I'm sorry I didn't do a review for the Binding of the Blade series which after Lord of the Rings are my favorite!

Update on Dragon of Blackfire Mountain

Merth and the others are at Port Therin still. Farkin has gone off to work so they are going exploring. They have just met a fire eater named Agren and are going with him to the Grand Isle which is a row of the first buildings in Port Therin. Well I'll give you sort of a clue what about what I haven't written yet, I think Agren is going to join their fellowship, probably because the more I write about him, the more I like him. For those who haven't read my story Agren is dark skinned but more of a brown than black. Oh, I haven't mentioned this in my book but Aldorim(people from Aldor) are usually astroligers. But usually the ones who study the stars the most are in the north by the Ashen Mountains. Usually at a young age Aldorim are taught the basics, constelations, the stars, etc. Stars are usually their extent of school, besides learning to use weapons and usually Aldorim pick up their parents trade. Also their are many merchants especially in Port Therin because it is a port town.

A couple of weeks ago our class finished a book called the Westing Game which I totally recomend. It was about a murder and a sorta game that was in the murdered one's will. Well it gathered people together and gav them clues. Well in all it's an awesome book. For all those who were wondering about the Doug two fingers thrust in the air "I'm number one!" This is about the poll!
If you are writing a story then it might be a good idea to try to develop what you chose on the poll in it. Like right now I'm working on improving my characters and having more about them, having them talk more etc. I chose character development because I was thinking about Lord of the Rings. I really love that book I think not just because of the amazing story line and the world but how I was able to relate to the characters and seem to bond with them. I think in every story there should be one person who you really seem to bond with and like if they die in the book you are really sad, and you miss them even though they are just fictional. Like how much I love the hobbits without them Lord of the Rings would not be the same.

Instead of showing my book I'll just post updates on what's happening with Merth and the others=)
Merth, Elender, Rolet, Olaren, and Osirus are at Port Therin. They just met a black guy with dreadlocks named Farkin who is going to house them. They are going to stay for the Great Feast(celebrating the creation of Port Therin) then are going to sail to Leyer, I'll put it into more detail when I've written it. Merth has just found out from Olaren that Rolet used to be a great warrior until his son died in a battle that he commanded and he gave up his position taking it as his fault and took up the humble job of gateman(gate keeper)

Aragorn is my favorite person from Lord of the Rings. He keeps strong through the whole book and I love his character. I love elves and I think it's really cool how he grew up in Rivendell with them. I also like Sam he takes care of Frodo and I like the way he talks. I like in the book when he stops to say a poem or to make a remark. I love it also how he's always hopeful and encourages Frodo.

Beyond the Summerland intruduces a bowman in his 20's. He is the one in the middle. He lives in a small village called Dal Harat and he leaves as all do to Summerland for a period of time. Well he learns in the summerland how to weild his bow(Suruna) better, about the sea, and other things. On his left is Valzaan the great prophet and to his right a maiden who accompany's him in Summerland later to be his wife. Well at Summerland valzaan realizes that a company that serves Malek, the villian resembels satan, is at the Forbidden Isle well things happen that I don't want to say if you read this book.

The Bringer of Storms is rather complex so I bid you, see for yourself and read these books:)

For spring break we went to Brasov with the Yorks and the Smiths and later camping at the Mather's land with Cameron and Samuel and well you probably guessed the Mathers were also there. We went to an underground restaurant at Brasov called Belle Muzica, it was fun. Oh, one of those pictures is Joel with an ax... bad combination. :) Sorry Joel's picture is flipped... didn't know how to fix it.
